You should feel some pain relief during and immediately after your session, especially for soreness from exercise. For chronic pain, it often takes 2-6 sessions to achieve lasting results, as these issues have built up over time.
It's also common for the full benefits of a treatment to appear within 24-48 hours. Some temporary soreness may occur as deep muscles are worked.
To get the most out of your massage, stay well-hydrated both before and after your session and follow any self-care recommendations from your therapist.

Massage Remedy clients receive a 25% discount for 4 consecutive weekly sessions. You pay full price for the first three weekly sessions in a row, and then your 4th week is free!

If by deep tissue you mean constant intense pressure provoking pain levels of 7+ out of 10 for the duration of your session—then no. Intense pressure is neither necessary nor particularly effective for correcting muscular pain and stiffness. I use the appropriate level of pressure to target the layer of tissue that needs to be addressed and use skillful means to bring balance to muscle tone and connective tissue.

Massage doesn't have to be painful to be effective. Always let your therapist know if you feel any discomfort.
Some techniques, like Neuromuscular Therapy, require applying a focused, firm pressure on "tender points." The goal is for this to be a manageable sensation, around a 4-5 on a 1-10 pain scale, until the muscle releases. If you prefer a completely pain-free session, just let me know! There are many gentle methods to help you get the results you're looking for.
-
Before your massage begins, your therapist will discuss your health history, current pain, and specific areas you'd like to focus on, and possibly do some brief assessments to pinpoint the source of your discomfort.
Once I leave the room, you can undress to your comfort level and lie on the table under the sheet and blanket.
For Relaxation
If your goal is to de-stress, you'll receive a relaxing Swedish massage with long, flowing strokes at your preferred pressure. It could also include vibrational sound therapy, hot stones, or essential oils to enhance your experience. Your only job is to breathe deeply and relax.
For Pain Relief
A pain relief massage will incorporate a variety of techniques that may require your active participation, both mentally and physically. This focused work is designed to address the root cause of your pain.

At Massage Remedy, prices are all inclusive and tips are not expected.

No, not even as a joke. This is disrespectful to your massage therapist and our profession. Additionally, I have a zero tolerance policy and any sexual advances, innuendo, or inappropriate touching is grounds for immediate termination of your session.
-
Yes, absolutely let your massage therapist know if you do not want to be touched in a specific area or in a certain way. You don’t have to give any details, and you have the right to ask to take a break or end your massage all together at any time, for any reason.
-
What to wear for your massage depends on your comfort level and the type of treatment you are receiving.
For Craniosacral Therapy and Vibrational Sound Therapy, you will remain fully clothed.
For a relaxation or pain relief massage, you can undress to your comfort level. You can leave your underwear on, and if you choose, you may be provided with shorts and a sports bra.
Regardless of the type of massage, a sheet or towel will always be used to ensure you are professionally and properly draped. Your genitals will never be exposed, and only the specific area being worked on will be uncovered.
-
If you are uncomfortable laying face down, or in any other position, just let me know. I am skilled at using bolsters and towels to make you as comfortable as possible.

Many of us feel self-conscious about our bodies, whether it's our size, scars, body hair, or simply the fear of not being able to relax. Please don't let this stop you from seeking a massage.
Massage Remedy is committed to a body-neutral approach. I believe every body deserves care, and I assure you I will be friendly, supportive, and completely judgment-free. You can always ask to have a specific area avoided, or you can opt for a fully clothed massage.
My goal is to help you feel more comfortable in your own skin, and receiving bodywork can be a powerful step toward that.
-
Body neutrality is a mindset that shifts the focus away from your body's appearance and towards its functions and abilities, promoting a neutral or respectful stance rather than requiring constant love or positivity. It involves accepting your body as it is, valuing what it does (like walking, eating, or experiencing joy) over how it looks, and not letting judgments about your appearance dictate your self-worth or actions.
-
This very often happens during a massage and is nothing to be embarrassed about. I take it as a sign you are in a deeply the relaxed state!
-
Not a problem at all! Your massage therapist has zero judgements about any aspect of your body!
-
Simply let me know. I will provide you with a robe and step out of the room so that you can cover yourself and make your way to the restroom.
-
Please feel free to speak up about any questions, needs or discomfort that arise during your session. There is no expectation for you to make small talk, but neither are you expected to maintain complete silence.
Although while I enjoy chatting with my clients and getting to know you, it can be difficult to hold focus on what I need to do during your treatment while also holding a social conversation.
